I was immediately interested when Studio Vouw approached me about the Bloomlight project. The concept of a high tech, nature-inspired streetlight that operates using Slowtech principles was too good to pass up. While a working prototype had already been developed, there was room for improvement to prepare the Bloomlight for production.

To meet this goal, I designed custom circuit boards that contain multiple microcontrollers, each programmed to handle specific tasks such as motor control, sensor data processing, and WiFi management. These microcontrollers communicate with one another to carry out commands and provide reports. Every Bloomlight is connected to the internet and can be monitored and controlled through a live dashboard.

In addition to using a LIDAR sensor to track the movement of approaching visitors, the Bloomlight also has advanced control over DMX, allowing for a wide range of choreographies and light shows.
